Michael Shayne is a fictional private detective character created during the late 1930s by writer Brett Halliday. There were several Michael Shayne movies starring Lloyd Nolan for Twentieth Century Fox, and Hugh Beaumont for the low-budget Producers Releasing Corporation.  A radio series under a variety of titles aired between 1944 and 1953. The most popular was The New Adventures of Michael Shayne, Detective which aired on Mutual in 1947 and starred Jeff Chandler. This version of Michael Shayne, Detective came to television in 1960 – 1961 starring Richard Denning in the title role. Film Classics.

The Michael Shayne television series ran on NBC in 1960 Richard Denning, formerly of the series Mr. and Mrs. North, starred as Michael Shayne. Michael Shayne had a voluptuous blonde secretary named Lucy Hamilton (Patricia Donahue). Lucy’s younger brother Dick Hamilton (Gary Clarke) was a college student who sometimes got involved in Shayne’s cases. This collection includes 12 full-length hour long episodes. 6 DVD Set.
