Carole Lombard in the Thirties
Turner Classic Movies and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment present Carole Lombard in the Thirties. Presented for the first time on DVD, these three films have been fully restored and re-mastered. The romantic drama “No More Orchids” (1932) has spoiled socialite Carole Lombard losing her heart in a shipboard romance with working stiff Lyle Talbot. Unfortunately, controlling grandfather C. Aubrey Smith has an arranged marriage in mind for her, and he’s willing to let father Walter Connolly’s business go under to make his point. The drama “Brief Moment” (1933) stars Carole as a torch singer who charms wealthy wastrel Gene Raymond, and, to the great surprise of his initially disapproving family, strives to get him to grow up and take responsibility. Donald Cook, Monroe Owsley co-star. Also includes “Lady By Choice.” 3 DVD Set.
